"Amy Wolf, as the alluring Musetta was whimsical and seductive."
Duluth News Tribune
"Amy Wolf as the Sorceress has a voice with presence and color. She skillfully leads her companions in evil..."
Janet Preus, HowWasTheShow.com
"Her elegant charm and fiery spirit were perfectly suited for Valencinne in the Merry Widow. Amy is a triple threat and always hungry to learn more. It was a true pleasure to work with her and watch her face each challenge as an actor with skill and pride. I would be thrilled to have her in any production."
Dean Anthony, Stage Director
"Amy Wolf proved to be a superb Musetta. She has a beautiful voice, she is a fine actress, and she is a consummate professional - simply a delight to work with!"
Markand Thakar Charles A. & Carolyn M. Russell Music Director, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra
"Having directed Amy Wolf in four major operatic roles, she is a lyric-coloratura soprano that possesses a voice of uncommon lyrical beauty and expressiveness. She brings excitement, grace and beauty to the stage as well as the ability to emotionally connect with her audience... a total artist!"
Craig Fields, Artistic Director Opera on the James
Amy Wolf is one of those artists so versatile, focused, a presence on stage, and carries incredible beauty, both physically and vocally. Early in her career she took on roles that many young artists either could not or would not attempt due to the challenges they presented. Amy thrived taking on such challenges proving she was a consummate musician as well as a major presence on stage vocally.
Like many younger artists, Amy actively participated in competitions while working on building experience in opera, receiving awards from the Schubert Club, National Association of Teachers of Singing, The Thursday Musicale, SAI Competition and the Phi-Beta Competition. As she grew into opera, Amy appeared with two highly respected companies; Minnesota Opera as an ensemble artist, and an Apprentice Artist with Utah Opera.
Amy appeared as a featured soloist in Opera Cabaret with Duluth Festival Opera, Opera on the James, Sonomento, CORO, Wayzata Symphony Orchestra, Opera on Tap, and Top Hat Theater. She also appeared as a soprano soloist in Carmina Burana and Beethoven's Mass in C with the Macalester Festival Chorale; Handel's Messiah with the Lynchburg College Choral Union; Faure Requiem, Vaughan Williams Dona Nobis Pacem, Carmina Burana and Handel's Messiah with Sonomento.
Her opera roles include The Second Spirit in Die Zauberflõte, Sophie in Masterclass; Miss Silberklang in Mozart's The Impresario; Nella in Gianni Schicchi; Musetta in La Boheme; Belinda in Dido and Aeneas; Valencienne in The Merry Widow; Zerlina in Don Giovanni; Sorceress in Dido and Aeneas; and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni.
During all of this activity, Amy raised two wonderful children, all the while remaining connected to her singing and maintaining her musicianship. Once her children grew older, she elevated her attention to more vocal work, and performing, to grow her career even further. Amy received her Bachelor of Music degree in vocal performance from the University of Minnesota and resides with her husband and two children in Minneapolis.
